AMATUDO - Love everything!

A very interesting gift-shop that is situated at Rua Madalena in the downtown of Lisbon offers unique and artistic gifts for tourists as well as for the locals as the concept of the gifts is really nice and cute. You will find almost everything there: olive oil. jams, ginja, portuguese soaps, bags and a great variety of jewelery and small little things. All is hand-made as well as all is made by Portuguese designers. It's really worth visiting as it's such a "I love everything" place...

Barcelos Rooster

A Galician pilgrim was just about to leave Barcelos to go to Santiago de Compostela when he was thought to be thief and was sentenced to death by hanging. Talking to the judge who was eating a meal of roasted cocerel he vowed that he is innocent and as a proof that rooster from the plate can stand up and crow. Finally when the Galician pilgrim was hanged the rooster stood up and crowed. The judge understood his mistake and hurried up to the hanged up pilgrim who survived by miracle.
Since that time the Barcelos Rooster has become Portugal's national symbol.
